Thank you for all the information, I believe my gg grandfather maybe a child of Valentine's, he was John Merritt born in 1814, which makes it very hard to find information on him, He was living in all the same counties that Valentine was. I have never been able to find a death record or marriage information, John married Eliza A. Tate, the were living in Rockingham Cty, Va in the 1830's, which is now Hampshire Cty, WV,Then Pleasants, Ritchie and Doddridge Cty's. The 1880 Census from Doddridge County was the last record i have on him, when i found that Valentine was living in Ritchie Cty, in 1860 and Ann had died there that year, i thought, this must be his parents. I'll keep searching,
