The 1810 census of Randolph County lists Robert Heuet with 2 males and 2 females all under the age of 16 years.
In the 1820 Census William Hewett is listed alone as the head of household. William married Mary Rosecronts (Rosencrance) April 13, 1825 and appears in the 1830 and 1840 census. Based on the census records William was born about 1800. He died prior to 1850 and Mary Huett is listed in the 1850 census of Barbour County with children John, Margaret,Jane, Joel, and Hiram.
Lettice Hewitt married Jacob Smith February 24, 1830 in Randolph County. Based on dates shown on her gravemarker Lettice was born July 20, 1805. The census records show that she was born in Pennsylvania.
The Randolph County marriage records show Hiram Huett married Sarah Wilson in 1839. The 1850 census of Barbour County lists Hiram Huett and Sarah with children Martha, Edwin, John and Henry. Based on the census Hiram was born about 1815.
The Minute Books of the County Court for Randolph County shows on September 22, 1817 the Court assigned guardianship for Hiram Hewitt to William Marteney Sr.
Hiram's mother was listed as Abigail Hewitt. No father was listed in the court record.
I found no record to definately prove any relationship between Robert Heuet, William Huett, Lettice Huett, and Abigail Hewitt. However, since these were the only persons with that name living in the area one could assume that they were related.
Based on their ages William and Lettice were most likely children of Robert. Abigail and William both had a child named Hiram. I found no other mention of Abigail Hewitt in the records.
