This could well be the Thomas Gadd that I find in Shelby Co., IN 1830 Census. His son John was born abt. 1803 in VA. John's eldest child (my gX2 grandfather) William Thomas Gadd was born March 30, 1829 in Champaign Co., OH. By 1840 I find that John has moved his family to Shelby Co., IN as well. By 1850 John is still in Shelby Co., but he has lost his wife and married 2nd Jane Kennedy a widow with 3 young children.

Maybe Elijah went to Ohio? I haven't pursued this line in depth as yet. But hope to make a connection soon.

Thanks for sharing.

Diane Winters
