James Clark and Eleanor Kirkpatrick (1808)
Posted by: Jan Stryker Date: December 01, 2001 at 06:14:36

I am trying to find out more information on the children of James Clark and Eleanor Kirkpatrick, after James Clarks death in 1808. Information from the West Virginia Historical Archives indicate Eleanor may have moved to Indiana after James Clark's death. I am specifically interested in their son ISAAC but other children were John(1st-son),James, Samuel, Mary, Isabella(married McGrew), Robert, Isaac. Margaret may also be a child of this couple because the Will of James gives money to his grandson John Carry and Margaret Cary is listed on the Estate Settlement. James McGrew and Robert Clark were administrators of this estate. History I have found states that James Clark settlement was near Bruceton Mills on Sandy Creek. He married Eleanor Kirkpatrick in Ireland 1773. I have an Isaac Clark who appears in Illinois in 1812 that may be a good candidate. The area in Illinois where he lived had many familier other surnames that are also seen early in/or near Bruceton Mills area, Spurgeon, Judy, Kirkpatrick, Cary. Any help with my brick wall is appreciated.
