To Ron Halbritter and the List: I have noticed several messages regarding the genealogy material of Doyne Halbritter. If you have what I think you have, it is the result of work that Doyne and I did together for ten years or so, with some additions from others. I expect you know by now, with my initials on so much of the typed material, that I did a third to a half of that typing as we traded data, providing extra copies for cross-referencing. It was intended as personal between us to aid in answering queries on behalf of PCHS. Some of the items in his possession belonged to Preston County Historical Society. We wondered why we were denied access after Doyne's death and later told that all of that material had been destroyed.
Three years ago I finally agreed to serve as President of the Society as Doyne expected I would. I'd be interested to see (privately) an inventory of the material you inherited. I'd also like to see you mention the source of the material you use in responding to queries referred toon this list. Examples: The reference to Eva Nordeck, etc. Was it from the article I wrote or another? From the family lists of births, marriages and deaths that I extracted and provided Doyne before these materials were printed? Or the genealogy of the May family in my Cale book? I hope you will understand and respect the reasons why I have written.
