I found this in my Morton's History of Preston County:

James Flynn lived on the line between Loudoun and Fauquier. He came about 1850 and purchased the farm later developed into the plant of the Austin Coal Company. All the family returned permanently to Virginia except Benjamin W., who sold the place and went into the Confederate Service through the influence of his cousin, "Extra Billy" Smith. After the war he returned and until his death from a railroad accident, was manager of the Irondale Furnace.

It didn't mention who James married, though. Hope this helps a little!

Nancy :)
