The U.S. Census of Preston County - Lyon District (Newburg) shows Richard WELCH, wife Bridget, and children: Mariah, Katherine, Michael, Thomas, John, James and Patrick. Richard WELCH immigrated from Ireland ABT 1851 having settled in Baltimore, MD where Mariah and Katherine were born. All other children born in WV. Richard is listed as a "Trade Man in Coal Mine". I am interested in any information on other WELCH descendants.

Katherine WELCH is my gggrandmother - married (26 OCT 1885)George Patrick KING(HERSHLINE) [son of Mary Ann HERSHLINE - widow and 2nd husband Timothy KING]. They lived in Austen, Preston Co. between 1885 and 1893 when the moved to Centre Co., PA.

Note: Richard's brothers were also listed in same census record: James WELCH, wife Celia and children: Patrick, Julia, Richard, James, Thomas and Joseph; Patrick WELCH, wife Mary and children: Annie and Charlie.
