Sarah Jane Riggins

JANE LEW -- Sarah Jane Riggins, 75, of 37 Wood Street, Jane Lew, formerly of Fairmont, died November 1, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew.

She was born May 13, 1928, in Preston County, the daughter of the late William and Reuah Alberta Sisler Riggins. She was twice married, first to Frank Monell and later to George Riddle, both of whom are deceased.

Surviving are one sister, Velma Hoover, and her husband, the Rev. William Hoover of Westfield Road, Jane Lew.

The following nieces and nephews who helped take care of her were: Bob and Beverly Hoover of Jane Lew; Bill and Loretta Hoover of Weston; Lillie and Frank Swisher of Jane Lew. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews survive.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annabelle Albert and Evelyn Kerns, and one brother, Matthew (Bud) Riggins.

Mrs. Riggins was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW in Fairmont and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Friends will be received at the Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, Monday afternoon from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. with Rev. Russell Furr officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Morris Funeral Home of Jane Lew is in charge of the arrangements.
