I too am looking for answers. My father who was Samuel L. Hartman always told us that he was born to Seymour Hartman and that he was born in Pendleton county W.Va. I dont know how old Seymour was when he died in 1928. He died of the flue epidema of that time. He must have been in his 30s as he and anna had 9 children and my dad was the youngest...when i tried to make inquery as to any records, i was told that the court house had burned down sometime earlier...so if this helps any at all, let me know.
