Griffin and at least one son, Jonathan, were soldiers of the Civil War; any other son's you know about? Griffin is buried at the National Cem. in Maryland, near Antietam; he died the day Lee surrendered.

From here we are going on other's research, so looking for confirmation.
Griffin was reportedly son of Samuel Canterbury, JR and Jane Dick; he was son of Samuel and Elizabeth; he was son of John b. 1690 and Elizabeth Smith/Harper.

Any questions or additions are welcome. Also seeking any photos of this family.
