Does this surname exist in Monroe Cty??????

Hello,
I believe that there is a mistake on my ggrandfather's death certificate. It lists his parents as Joseph C. Malcolm and Sarah Whitenagle. We believed her last name to be Grier. Possibly she had a first marriage to a man named Whitnagle. She married Joseph Malcolm in Monroe Cty so we assume that she lived there prior to her marriage. I've searched everywhere but cannot find any reference to the name Whitenagle in Monroe Cty, or West Va for that matter.
Can anyone tell me if that surname has ever existed in Monroe Cty?
Thank you, Carly H.
