My grandfather was Harry Ray Crites, he passed away over 30 years ago. That place definitely exists....well exist"ed". It has been renamed.
It is in Little Birch in Braxton County WV just off Old US Route 19 (or Old Turnpike Road). I grew up "across the mountain" in Birch River and as a kid I used to beg my step-brothers to take the CRITES MOUNTAIN road sign down and give it to me, lol. But a few years ago on a visit back home I noticed the sign said STARCHER mountain or road.....it was kinda sad. I guess I should've taken that sign when I had the chance.
