1 Lt. John Gallo 1923 WV, PA
I'm trying to find the family of 1 Lt. John Gallo, ASN O-829674, 22nd Fighter Squadron, 36th Fighter Group. 1 Lt. John Gallo was killed in action on March 21, 1945.
The following is what I know of John Gallo and his family.
1 Lt. John Gallo was born March 8, 1923 in West-Virginia.
There are two John Gallo's from West Virginia born in 1923 so I'm not sure who his parents were.
1) John Gallo from Clarksburg, Harrison Co. WV. Parents Frank Gallo (died in 1967) and Frances Gallo (died in 1975). Frank and Frances entered the United States from Italy. Their children, Mary, Rocco, Anna, Tony, Rose, John, Josephine and Lena
or....
2) John Gallo from Flemington, Taylor Co. WV. Parents George Gallo (died in 1963) and Fanny Gallo. Their children, John, Mike, Anna, George, Mary, Charles and Trudy.
1 Lt. John Gallo entered the service on February 2, 1943 in Miami Beach, Florida. However, his home-address at that time was, 146 Weirich Ave, Washington Co. PA.
On the WWII Memorial website John Gallo is honored by a Mrs. Eva E. Nardelli. I don't know what the relationship is between John Gallo and Eva Nardelli. Would be nice if we could get in touch with her but I have so many addresses of her so I'm not sure where she lives now.
1 Lt. John Gallo is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, The Netherlands. His grave is adopted. The family who adopted his grave would like to get in touch with the Gallo family.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help us.
