Thanks so much for your responses to my request for assistance. I really appreciate your help!

I am related to the line of Linville's you called attention to, albeit through Lewis David's brother, Isaac. One of the reasons it has been so difficult to get information about my grandfather's dad is because his parents were first cousins, a fact his mother is futilely trying to keep hidden.

She is still living and could very easily confirm or deny whether the Orville I found the death record for (which isn't his death certificate - just a bit of information showing death date and burial information) is my great-grandfather. But, she's still very tight-lipped about the relationship and won't discuss family history of any kind with me.

So, I know that Orville R. Linville, the son of Lewis David and Cora is my great-grandfather. What I don't know is if the Orville that died on 15 April 1935 and was buried in Mannington Cemetery is the same Orville.
