It is likely that Joshua Sr. died in Wetzel Co, which is where he resided at the time of the 1850 US Census, and where Margaret resided at the time of the 1860 US Census, among their likely children (some not on your list).

There is no death record in Marion Co. stating that Margaret died there in 1872.

Why do you think Joshua Sr. died in 1854? How would one arrive at a year of death but not a place?

I'd suggest looking at the excellent series of cemetery readings in Wetzel Co. posted on the USGenWeb site for Wetzel County, for Joshua and Margaret. I would expect to find estate records for at least Joshua Sr. in Wetzel Co., as well as deeds concerning the land he owned there.

Good hunting,
