Matthew is the son of Francis and Bridget (Biddy) Christie.Marion County Birth Records show a Henry Christie born June 30, 1861. This 1870 census show Mathew D. age 8. I think it is the same child. The birth may have been reported 10 days later, and the child's name changed from that reported.

Francis (b. abt 1816 in VA) is a tailor. If he started tailoring at about 19, the book could have been his. Don't know about a George S. Christie. The only other Christie in Marion County around 1850 was a William Christie (b. abt 1773 in Ireland). Don't know if he's related to Francis.
