Detamore Family Cemetery,Right Hand Fork

Howdy: I'm very new at genealogy and want to find out more about my Detamore line. This starts with my grandfather, Cephas Charles Detamore (1900-1986) and goes back to Christian Detamore (1756-1822) of (McGaheysville ?) Rockingham County Virginia.

I understand there is a Detamore Family Cemetery at Right Hand Fork in Braxton County. Any information would be appreciated on the "early" Detamores.

Also, I'm interested in verifying the Marriage date of Cephas Detamore to my grandmother, Lovie Rachael Smith (1898-1968)-- According to the information I found on familysearch.org, they were married in Braxton Co. on 27 December 1922. My mother, Pauline Virginia Detamore, was born on 29 September 1919. There was never a mention of this "out of wedlock" birth <grin>.

The mystery continues -- just one of the reasons why genealogy research is so interesting.

Happy Trails, Duane Charles Parsons
