Hi Leigh, My grand mother was born on May 30, 1852 In Indiana I have coies of cencus that say August was from Indiana and also one that says he was born in Germany one saying the United States so I really dont know where he is from. I sent for my mothers ss card and she has the spelling as Werst for her mothers madin name I am having such a hard time trying to find any Information on them I am begining to think they are just a figment of my imigation .I know they have to be out there some where. In talking to my cousins who knew my grandmother they dont ever remember her talking about bro and sisters but I guess she ran away to marry my grand father so the story goes and did not keep in contact with her family so nobody ever knew them.My Grandparents lived in Colorado Springs Co All the kids were born there They moved to Washington state in early 1900s My Mother the youngest was born in Co in Jan of 1900. I have just kinda given up for now but I plan to get back to it and I'm keeping your message just in case If you run across anything else that might fit I would appricate any info as I have really hit the famous brick wall. Thank you so much.
