I have some Wüst people in my bloodline. However, they came from the Eschenbach community (near Neustadt) in the Mittlefranken region of Bavaria. Birth dates range from abt 1760 to 1797. However, I have several modern telephone directories of Germany on CD-ROM, the latest dated August 2000. If I look at the city of Kassel for Wüst people, I find nine curent entries. This tells me that your surname search is very viable, but that it not as popular as a Smith or Jones name over here in the USA. Let me know if you would like addresses/phone numbers of these folks. You would probably have to write to such people in the German language and you might have to include some of those rediculous "International Reply Coupons" from the post office. The wife of my ex-boss came from Kassel as he was in the US tank corps stationed in "the Fulda gap." But I do not recall what her maiden mane might have been. And, by the way, it you want to get the "u" umlaut character on most machines, depress and hold the "Alt" while using numbers 1,2,and 9 over on the numeric keypad. Good luck! Tim
