I am not related to these people and have no further information. From the 'Maryland Magazine of Genealogy,' Vol. 4, #2, Fall 1981: "An Unmanifest Destiny by Walter E. Arps, Jr. - Sewel Hepbron remarried (ca. 1832)taking as his second bride Martha Priscilla Maslin, daughter of Thomas Maslin and his wife Elizabeth Wroth, daughter of Kinvin Wroth and his wife, Priscilla Blackiston." (This was in Kent Co., MD.) Sewell Hepbron and his family moved to Ralls Co., MO about 1837, however a son from the first wife was left in Maryland with an uncle.
"After their marriage in Kent, Edward Theodore and Eugenia Maria (Wroth) Wroth (1817-61) also came out to Ralls County. Mr. Wroth's interlude as a Missouri planter ended abruptly, however, in 1843, because of a spring visit from his father-in-law, Dr. Peregrine Wroth (1786-1879), of Chestertown."
"The good doctor became ill immediately upon his arrival, and his undisguised distaste for Missouri was so intense that he left for home right after recovering. But, before returning to Maryland, Dr. Wroth threatened to disinherit his daughter, if she did not come back to Kent."
"Dutifully, the younger Wroths complies, leaving Missouri that October along with 'Messrs. Kennard and Tomkins.' This retreat caused Sewell to lament: 'I never expect to see another Kent County, Marylander, here. The horrid descriptions given by ..Dr. Wroth will deter anyone from attempting the like."
"Letter (received by the Hepbrons) of April 14, 1842: 'We are expecting Dr. Wroth out now every day.' For particulars about this distinguished physician-chemist and his association with Washington College, In Chestertown, see 'Maryland Historical Magazine,' V. 75, #3 (September 1980) pp. 233-37."
"Letter of January 8, 1844 - Later that year (November 5) Sewell commented on the Hepbrons' receipt of a letter from Missouri-returnee, Eugenia Wroth, in which she had described illness then raging in Kent County."
About 1851 the Hepbrons left Missouri and returned to Kent Co., MD to help run a family farm.
"Mrs. Edward T. Wroth (Eugenia Maria) is interred on the paternal family farm, 'Town's Relief, situated off 'Flat Land' Road, approximately three miles from Chestertown."
