For your records: My mother remembered that my dad's mother(Venus Yolanda Writer, my grandmother) had a brother, Leo. Also, according to my mother, Vee's mother divorced the father and left for Missouri (is there such a place as St. Joseph, MO?). Vee was raised by her grandmother in PA (Pennsylvania Dutch). Vee's father lived with them in PA. Legend has it that he drank. My mother said that Virgil Heck (my uncle; Vee's son) always said that the old father had a blind horse who would bring him home when he was out drinking too much. What is interesting is that Vee also divorced her husband (E. George Heck, my grandfather,) and left Virgil (then a baby, about 1 yr old)to be raised by his paternal grandmother (E. George's mother). But, she returned 10 yrs later and re-married E. George (thus my Dad, Charles M. Heck) was born. There seems to be a recurring tendency for leaving babies. [My mother said, ''she [Vee] ran off with an Armenian'']
