To the List: Additional Y-DNA results have been posted at the Wright DNA Project at http://www.wright-dna.org/dna/R1b1Results.html under 1792 John. Two more descendants of 1792 (year of death) John Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, (place of death) have participated and their results match those of other descendants of 1792 John Wright and are part of Haplogroup R1b1b2. The first participant is Emmett Wright (Kit 46960) whose line of descent has now been confirmed as follows: 1. 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, 2. 1789 John Wright of Surry County, North Carolina, 3. 1838 Daniel Wright of Madison County, Alabama, 4. 1847 John Wright of De Soto County, Mississippi, 5. c. 1868 Daniel William Wright probably of Arkansas, 6. 1939 William Daniel Wright of Galveston County, Texas, 7. 1937 Edward Murff Wright of Galveston County, Texas, and 8. Emmett Harris Wright, the participant. The second participant is Robert Wright (Kit 156574) whose line of descent is as follows: 1. 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, 2. 1789 John Wright of Surry County, North Carolina, 3. 1838 Daniel Wright of Madison County, Alabama, 4. 1847 John Wright of De Soto County, Mississippi, 5. 1916 Patrick Henry Wright of Tate County, Mississippi, 6. 1963 William Richard Wright of Hinds County, Mississippi, 7. 1968 Mackey Mims Wright of Mississippi, and 8. Robert Wright, the participant. With these results there are now five descendants of 1792 John Wright's son 1809 William Wright of Franklin County, Virginia, and three descendants of 1792 John Wright's son 1789 John Wright of Surry County, North Carolina, who all match exactly or reasonably closely. In addition, a fourth descendant of 1655 Francis Wright of Yorkshire, England, has participated and he is Edward Humphrey Wright (Kit 148513) and he matches the other descendants of 1655 Francis Wright. These descendants are part of Haplogroup J2. The Y-DNA of the eight descendants of 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, does not match the Y-DNA of the four descendants of 1655 Francis Wright of Yorkshire, England, and therefore, these two Wright families are unrelated. These results are further confirmation of the mis-identification by Charles Arthur Hoppin made between 1919 and 1932 and published in Tyler's Quarterly and in The Washington Ancestry that 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, was the son of 1729/30 John Wright of Stafford County, Virginia, and the grandson of 1713 Francis Wright of Westmoreland County, Virginia, who married Anne Washington, the aunt of George Washington. I will be happy to exchange information on these Wright lines with other interested researchers. Robert N.
