Valerie,
My records list this Thomas Wright as 1793 (year of death) Thomas Wright of Union County, South Carolina, (place of death), the son of 1767 Francis Wright of Amherst County, Virginia, and Mary (Hawkins) Wright.
The wife of 1793 Thomas Wright was Cordelia (_____) Wright, as indicated by Amherst County, Virginia, D.B. E/481 & D.B. E/482 & D.B. E/486 dated March 1, 1784, or Dillce or Cordelo (_____) Wright, as indicated by Amherst County, Virginia, D.B. E/586 dated April 22, 1784, or Dillie (_____) Wright, as indicated by Union District, South Carolina, D.B. B/244 dated April 24, 1788.
The term brother was sometimes used to refer to a brother-in-law.Amherst County D.B. C/31 would then indicate that William Burt was the brother-in-law of 1793 Thomas Wright of Union District, South Carolina. That would in turn indicate that Cordelia (_____) Wright was probably Cordelia (Burt) Wright.
This connection is supported by the will of 1793 Thomas Wright dated December 1, 1787, and probated on January 1, 1794, at Union District, South Carolina, W.B. A/28, which made a provision for the maintenance of William Burt for his lifetime, a type of arrangement that would normally only be made for someone who was a member of the family:
