18th Century Wright's of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
I am seeking information about the descendants of John Wright, founder of Wright's Ferry later Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was a contender for the location of the county seat of the newly formed Lancaster County shortly after it was separated from Chester County in 1729.I am trying to find if he had a son or brother, William, who was married to Mary Cartlege.William and Mary's daughter Hannah b. 1737, was married to John Postlethwait, Jr. son of the tavern owner John Postlethwait who was also in contention with John Wright for the county seat of Lancaster County. The location of the center of government for the county eventually was placed on land owned by James Hamilton.
If anyone has information about any of these Wright family members please respond either through this forum of by email to:

Thank you.
