Thanks for replying Jeff!
I am trying to place "our" Ambrose into that family. Here is what I have pieced together:
Ambrose was probably born in CAROLINE COUNTY, later of AMHERST & then BEDFORD.His brothers MAY have been John & George of AMHERST COUNTY.John was married to Margaret Newman, his brother George to Delilah Williams.Their parents MAY have been John Eubank & Mary Bullard of KING & QUEEN COUNTY.
Here are some more details from Amherst by a researcher named Teta Eubank Wagner who I have not been able to contact....
Late 18th century deed, tax, and census records of Eubank in Amherst County:
---1779November 1-To Ambrose Eubank - 104 acres on Horsleys Creek from RoderickMcCulloch and wife Elizabeth. [Horsleys Creek runs into Pedlar River at Pedlar Mills.]
---1782September 2-To John Eubank- 370 acres both sides Wilderness Creek , and 98 acres on Davis Spring Branch, from Philip and Judith Thurmond. [S. Amherst County, Wilderness Creek empties into the James River one anda half miles west of the mouth of Pedlar River.]
---1782Land Tax List-Amherst County, Lexington Parish

---1784 ? date -To David Jarrell (?sp.) - 286 acres fromJohn W. Eubank - Wilderness Creek [The two tracts equal 473 acres, the amount for which John was taxed in 1782. John may have had a middle name and uses the initial here. The only instance found where he uses it.]
---December 5, 1784-To John Eubank - 118 acres on Horsleys Creek from Richard Wilbourn, on line of Ambrose Eubank.[Horsleys Creek empties into the Pedlar River at the village of Pedlar Mills, a few miles upstream fromthe James River. John evidently moved closer to Ambrose on Horsleys Creek.]
