DNA Match for Wrenn & Wren

We've just had an exciting match at the W(R)en(n) Family Surname DNA Project!

This DNA match ties one line of Texas WRENS to a Tennessee WRENN family, and ultimately to Nicholas Wren of Virginia --- very exciting stuff for those of us who were stuck behind that dang Texan brick wall for many years!

We hope to find many more matches with as many different lines of W(R)en(n)s as possible. If you are also stuck behind a brick wall, a Y-chromosome might be able to help narrow down your search.

You may view a comparison chart of DNA results within the W(R)en(n) Family Association DNA Surname Project, located here:

http://dna.ancestry.com/groupDNA.aspx?siteId=38089870

(Currently Ancestry's DNA project software is in beta, meaning it may change frequently as they add more updates, improvements, and make bug fixes. Unfortunately, all this tweaking tends to make the DNA site very slow. If the comparison chart takes a long time loading, please be patient. Hopefully the performance will improve soon.)

If any Wrens, Wrenns, Rens, Renns, Wrynnes, etc. are inspired to join us, please do! You can order a DNA test here:

http://dna.ancestry.com/selectTest.aspx

We recommend the 46-chromosome test, if it is not a financial hardship for you.

Remember: only male Wrens, Wrenns, Rens, Renns, Wrynnes, etc. should take the Y-chromosome test. If you are female, ask a male relative with your surname to take the test.

Once you receive your results, please join our group here:

or contact me at http://wrenkin.com.
