DEED BOOK N pg 463-464 Jacob Grimes, Junr, from Benj King sen Aug 27th 1818 This indenture made this twentysixth (26th) day of June one thousand eight hundred and eighteen (1818) between BENJAMIN KING, Sr. of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and JACOB GRIMES, Jr. of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said BENJAMIN KING for a valuable inconsideration of the sum of one hundred and eleven dollars & fifty six cents ($111.56) to him in hand paid by him the said JACOB GRIMES, Jr. before the signing and delivery these present the benefit whereof he doth by these presents adknowldge hath bargained, granted, sold, aliended, ____m and confimred and doth by these presents bargain, grant sell, _____ and confim unto the said JACOB GRIMES, JR. his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land siutated lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of SPRING CREEK butted and bounded as follows: Beginning at the black gum and ironwood on the south bank of a branch running South one hundred and fifty poles to two locust Thense East 68 poles to two Sassafras in a hollow Thense NORTH 150 poles to a sugar tree and white oak in the North branch of the aforesaid branch Thence up the branch within meanders to the beginning Containing 63 and 3/4 acres be the same more or less to have and to thold the aforsaid tract and parcel of land with all advantages ____and appurtenances thes unto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said JACOB GRIMES Jr and the said BENJAMIN KING,Sr. doth covenant and agree to send wiuth the said JACOB GRIMES, Jr. to warrant and forever defend the aforesaid bargained premises until the said JACOB GRIMES, Jr., his heirs and assigns against the claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever slaiming. I found many of our Wray, Ray, Rhea in Blount Tn along with Tiptons, the Turk desc. from Augusta Va. If you need more info on connection between Turk and Rays check Augusta Va.
I added George King he may be Ben and Tabithas Wray King son.Its been awhile since I worked on the Wray family, I had searched marriage books for Tabitha WRay and other records but never found her. Until yesterday, so I thought I would share the info incase another researcher was still looking for her family. I actually found her by accident I was looking for my Elijah Lewis parents he married Tempy Baker.
