We have been doing some family research, and we think that Cornelius is the brother of George Wragg (b.1898, Long Eaton), who emigrated to the US in 1914 aboard the Cedric. George Wragg is my great-grandfather. William, who is Cornelius and George's father, to our best estimates seems to have had 8 children. We are having difficulty tracing William's predecessors because there are many William Wraggs.
We think that George was born or possibly baptized in Shardlow, Derbyshire, Leicester, Nottinghamshire.
I am leaving next week for England for my Junior Year Abroad at the University of Leicester, which is also in Leicestershire. My father, David, who is George's grandson, was born in Norwalk, where the Wraggs first emigrated to. We have lost almost all connection with the English Wraggs, although my great-aunt does have some contact with some of the English family members. My mother is going to contact her since I will be over in England.
We are not far from you at all in Connecticut, and I am also 20 years old. It's interesting to find someone who may be related so relatively close!
