Thomas Wozencroft, Wales, 1820

I have a copy of a letter written from Perthy on 6 Dec 1820 from Thomas Wozencroft to John Price and John Edwards in Belmont Co., OH. John Edwards is my 5th great-grandfather, and I am trying to find out something about his background in Wales. In the letter Thomas Wozencroft mentions that he came to the US about 1803, arriving in New Orleans, to travel and visit relatives and remained for 14 years before returning to Wales and his wife. He mentioned visiting a brother in Cincinnati and spending time in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia, and visiting Philadelphia in 1817, from which city he sailed home. He said he planned to return to the US and his wife would come with him this time. He also mentioned an earlier visit from which he returned about the same time the Edwards family left Radnorshire, which would have been the mid to late 1790s. He mentions a Davies family, which is related by marriage to the Edwards family (John's sister Mary married a Davies). If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, I'd live to know more. I've seen the info on the Thomas Wozencroft who settled in Clarke Co., GA and wondered if this could be the same man.
