My grandfather, William Wortmann, was born August 13, 1901.
Records say in was in Pennsylvania. I did manage to find his social security number and am waiting for the copy of his application.
He, along with his sister Sophia, were in an orphange in 1910. (I am waiting for the orphanage to get back to me.)
I am trying to find out who their parents were because I have hit a brick wall. Some things that I came across say that his father came from Denamrk and his mom came from Pennsylvania. Other things have it listed the other way around.
William went on to marry Catherine Smearer and they had 2 children (David b 1944 and Cathleen b 1940)
Sophia married Cecil Metcalfe and had 3 children (Cecil, Robert, and Margaret.
