Worthy Family Genealogy Forum
In trying to trace my Simpson family, I find John C. Simpson b.1840 in Ohio, married Jenetta Worthy b.1854 in Missouri, on Oct 22, 1875 in Jackson County, Missouri. John and Jenetta (Nettie) are in the 1880 census district 9, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Family story says John died prior to 1900 while moving a house probably in the Kansas City area. I find Nettie Simpson (census says Simson, but correct name is definitely Simpson as I find the same family in future census) in the 1900 census Shannon County, Missouri. Head of household is William Reed age 26. Nettie is listed as his aunt. Mariah Reed age 66 is listed as his mother. There is a George Simpson age 43, a cousin. There are four Kennedy children: Beebe age 11, Frank age 7, George age 4, and Mary age 2, also listed as cousins. In a 1905 census for Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, I find Nettie Simpson, John Simpson (later census shows John to be her son, born abt 1874), Frank, and George (instead of Kennedy their surname is Simpson). In the 1910 census St Louis, Ward 8, St Louis City, Missouri, I find Nettie, Frank, and George Simpson. Frank and George Simpson are listed as grandsons of Nettie. In 1917-1918 World War 1 Draft Registration, I find Beebe Simpson, city St Louis, County St Louis (Independent City) birth date 12 Jan 1889.
My problem is I canít find the Simpson family in 1880 or earlier. How does the Reed family fit in?
