Russ:
I finally found a place to get a copy of Loyd's accident report. I have it now. The Carrier was the USS Badoeng and my uncle was flying a F4U4 Corsair. He was trying to complete his carrier Qualifications. He had completed 7 of the landings and had 5 more when he had the accident. I believe it was pilot error and the plane itself. Have been reading about the plane on the internet.
