I believe that I am descended from a Joseph Worth, born 1776 in Nantucket. He emigrated to New Hampshire and then to Starksboro, Vermont. Finally he settled in Pitt Township on a farm, Wyandot County, Ohio and lived there until after 1860 with his wife Charlotte Ellison. His children were, Lionel b. about 1804, Guy C. b. 1807, Harriet, b. 1809, Eliza Ann (my gggrandmother)b. 1812, Samuel M. b. 1814, Richard, b. 1816, Martha, b. 1818, William, b. 1820, Arthur, b. 1822, and John Quincy Adams Worth, b. 1824. Joseph's father was Lionel Worth of Newbury, Mass. b. 1737, d. 1807 Starksboro, Addison County, Vermont. Early on, these Worths seemed to have moved back and forth from Newbury to Nantucket fairly frequently. Joseph's brother, William sponsored and wrote entries in the Vermont Gazetteer (and died in Vermont). If these are related to your group, I would like to know about it.
