Worsfold of Hackney
Just discovered from the 1901 Census that my wife's grandfather Cecil WORSFOLD had 5 previously unknown siblings. Interested in hearing from anyone who connects. The family group is as follows:
Charles Robert WORSFOLD was born on 13 May 1862 in Hackney.1892: Postman, of 7 Woodbine Cottages, Chatham Place, Hackney. Same year: postman of 5 Halidon St., Urswick Road, Lower Clapton. 1901: aged 38, Postman G.P.O., of 8 Knotts Green Road, Leyton, Essex [RG13/1619, 121]. Granted administration of his father's estate, 25 Feb 1892. Served 31 yrs 9 months as a postman, and retired in the 1920's. He was married to Florence BEALES on 31 Oct 1881 in St. Clement, Barnsbury, Islington. She was born about 1858 in Leicester, the daughter of James BEALES, a hosier. In 1881 she was aged 23, a milliner, a visitor in the household of Nathaniel BISHOP, a flour agent, at 317 Victoria Park Rd., Hackney [RG11/0317, 22]. Children of Charles Robert WORSFOLD and Florence BEALES were:
i. Florence WORSFOLD, born about 1883 in Hackney. 1901: aged 18, with parents
ii. Charles WORSFOLD, born about 1884 in Hackney. 1901: aged 17, bicycle maker, with parents
iii. Mary WORSFOLD, born about 1886 in Hackney. 1901: aged 15, with parents.
iv. Sidney WORSFOLD, born about 1887 in Tottenham. 1901: aged 14, with parents
v. William WORSFOLD, born about 1891 in Hackney. 1901: aged 10, with parents.
vi. Cecil WORSFOLD.
vii. Herbert Percy WORSFOLD.
