I may have the info you're looking for. I am a descendant of Flayle Payne b London 1694; d 1764 Md. through his son John Payne, and, coincidentally, also though his daughter Martha Payne by her marriage to Patrick Lynch (Rev. War) upon the death of her husband Francis Worley (Whorley, Whirley)in 1780. Would be interested in learning more about Francis as well. There were several families who originally settled in Prince George's County and Frederick County, Maryland, who later settled in Bedford County, Virginia, in the 1770s. The variants in spelling of Whorley may be what's causing you difficulty in your research.
