John Word Sr. of New Kent CO. VA, 1652

There are ship records saying that John Word sailed from Glamorganshire, Wales and landed in Virginia in 1652. One of our relatives (Karl Word) went to Glamorgashire about 10 years ago to try to track him down but could find no record of his living there. He did, however, find a John Word from Sussex (near London), born in 1630 as one of 17 children of an itinerant minister. The dates correspond, and I'm wondering if "our" John actually lived in Sussex and was only in Wales briefly preparing to sail. I am interested to know if anyone has verification about John Word's original home and/or ancestry in Great Britain. I have information about his early years in Virginia that I will share with anyone who is inerested.
