Good day to all. Willis Wooten of Ga. has been a wall that has confused many researchers for a number of years.I can now state that I have breached the wall. My DNA test has shows that Willis's line IS out of the YORK County Richard Wooton line. While checking my results, I was surprised to find a match to 37 points of 67. This person was not testing for Wooten lineage, but the test showed otherwise. This Wootan has found to be from Hardy Wootan's line. With this info it shows that my line shares a common ancestor within the last 4 generations 83.49% and within 8 gen. to 97.28%. This testing then shows Willis not only can from the York co. Wooton line but, he is very close related to Hardy Wootan, and Hardy had a brother John. Fact. #1 Willis DID apply to admin. the estate of a John Wootan Sept. 6, 1832.( this info found in record rm in Atlanta Ga. state records) fact#2- There was a Moses Wooten that was marries to a Nancy Whittaker. This Moses was born 1825. Fact #3- Willis's sister Nancy shows on the census to be born 1790,and James, his bro., shows to be born 1794 with Willis's own birth in 1803. The letter that all has seen then is not completely correct. The 1825 Moses may be the one the letter writer mistook for the father to Willis. Willis's line then goes back from him to John, b. 1759; to John, b. 1735; to Daniel, b. 1721 Orange co Virginia. Although I do not match completely with all from this line, the test shows a change in at marker 570 that myself and Hardy's descentant have. There is not a data base large enough to show all of the DNA marker changes. So if anyone has a wall that needs breached, a DNA test is a quick and simple way to knock down the wall. If someone has data that state this post is incorrect, please put forth the info. But just the facts, please, just the facts. To each and all thanks for your time. Mel
