WOOSNAM'S OF GLAMORGAN . . .
I've just started to research the Woosnam side of the family and I've managed to get back to 1849 so far. I would love to hear from any one who may be connected to my family. So far I have learned that: David Woosnam was born in Newtown, 1849. At some point he moved to Nantymoel, Bridgend, Glamorgan to look for work in the mines. He married Elizabeth Jones and their son, William was born in January 1879. I have yet to discover any siblings. William married Jane Jones in 1905 and they had four children together: William, Anne, Clifford (1907), Blodwen (1908). Jane died around 1918 and William remarried and had two more sons Henry (1921) and Richard (1926). Only Harry (Henry) and Richard are alive and they continue to live in Nantymoel. Clifford was my great grandfather and he married Elsie Muriel Rees in 1934. They had a daughter, June Woosnam in 1935. Not long after, they moved to London where they remained until their death (Elise in 1945 & Clifford in 1987). Does any of this sound familiar to any one? Drop me a line . . .
