It is a rather long story but cut short as follows. My family tree covers Peter Horsman of Shrewsbury and his daughter Amelia married John Wood of Marche Hall. She then had a son named William Rigby Wood who emigrated with his wife and siblings to NZ and then Australia when their Shropshire estate fell on hard times.
William Rigby Wood was married to Mary Ann Molde (the local publican's daughter) and her sister Elizabeth married John Bennett.Letters from a Pollie (Mary Ann) Bennett of 12 Mackintosh Street Aberfan to her Uncle William Rigby Wood have "turned up" in a wooden box in NZ and via an Australian route come to me to trace their origins! We had thought the signature to be Pollie Horsman at first but Electoral Register checks show Woosnam as the occupants of the property in 1922 - 1935 at least. There seems to be another Pollie Woosnam writing from Shrewsbury also in 1922 which has me baffled at the moment!
My contact (a fifth cousin) is Gerard Benjamin in Brisbane who has just been over to NZ to get copies of all he can from the contents of the box out there.
I need some method of getting copies of the letters and further detail of what I know of the family over to you.
