I also find a very early Woosnam family on one of my trees: Elizabeth Woosnam (b.abt 1600,Llandinam d. 1749, Llanbrynmair), daughter of William Woosnam (b 1634) and Catherine _____ (b. 1639 Llandinam, d. 1684, Trefeglwys). Elizabeth md Thomas Edward in Trefeglwys 20 May 1681. Their first six children were born in Trefeglwys and the last four in Llanbrynmair.
Elizabeth's father, William Woosnam, was the son of Christopher Woosnam who appears to have lived in both Trefeglwys and Llandinam. I haven't found Christopher's wife's name, but two children, Catherine b. 1631 and William b. 1634 were born in Trefeglwys. Have you found any connections to this branch of the family?
I did take a research trip to Wales in 2000 and found them in the parish registers in the National Library.
