Hi Nancy,

Thanks for your reply. My Michael, his wife Mahala and children appear on the 1850 census for Phelps, Ontario, NY. They later moved to Macomb County, MI. I'm trying to find solid evidence showing who Michael's parents were. There is another Woolvin family that appears next door to them in the 1850 Phelps census. That household is headed by a William and Elizabeth. Given their proximity, I have to assume both Woolvin households are related; and given the ages listed I'm thinking that William and Elizabeth may be Michael's parents - but that's just speculation.
