Origin of Andrew Woolum?
Andrew Woolum b. 1758 in Virginia, was the father of a line of Woolums in southeastern Kentucky, particularly in Bell and Knox counties. Many Rices and Taylors in my line are also descended from him and spread far beyond Kentucky. There quite a few of us spread in places including Florida, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Delaware, Illinois, etc.
Anyway, Andrew married Ursala Woodard on 10-5-1789 in Greene Co. in what is now Tennesee (it was N.C. then, but there's a different Greene Co., N.C. today). They then migrated to Knox Co., KY, where most of their children were born between 1790 and 1810. Among these was my gggg-grandmother Rebecca Woolum.
I would like to know more about where Andrew Woolum (and for that matter, Ursual Woodard) came from and who his ancestors were. Any help appreciated.
