Ira WOOLSON / Clarissa HILLS

Trying to solve a mystery. Here are the clues I have:

1. A headstone in Dickersonville Cemetery, Lewiston, New York that says: Mary J. wife of IRA WOOLSON, died Sept. 1, 1836 Age 22 yrs.
2. 1840 Federal Census for Lewiston, New York. Ira Woolson shows up next to Charles Woolson and Isaac Woolson.
3. A marriage announcement: Ira Woolson married CLARISSA HILLS in Cambria, New York [just down the road from Lewiston] on 16 July 1837.
4. 1850 Federal Census for Wisconsin. Ira Woolson, age 50, and wife Clarissa, age 42.

I'm wondering if the Ira who left his young wife Mary J. buried in Dickersonville Cemetery in 1836 is the same Ira who married Clarissa Hills in 1837.

I have conflicting information about when and where Ira and Clarissa were born. One person says Ira was born in 1798 in Waterbury, Vermont; another says he was born in 1802 in Bristol, New York. Vermont sounds more likely to me, since Charles and Isaac Woolson both came from Waterbury.

One person says Clarissa Hills was born in Cambria, New York in 1824, and married Ira Woolson in 1840. Another says she was born in Bristol, New York in 1806 and married Ira in 1837.

Don't you love it when this happens, and you don't know who to believe? And so far nobody has said a word about poor Mary J. Woolson back in Dickersonville Cemetery. Who was she? Which Ira Woolson was her husband? I dunno. Have any other researchers come across these names?
