THOMAS(1) WOOLSON
born-1626/27,of New Cambridge (Newton,Mass).
married-20 Nov 1660 at Cambridge,Mass.,SARAH HYDE born 19 May 1644 and died 11 Sept 1721 AE 79,daughter of Deacon SAMUEL and TEMPERANCE(CROMPTON) HYDE of Cambridge Village,now known as Newton,Mass.Samuel Hyde came to America in 1639 on the ship Johnathan from London, England, and was the second settler of Cambidge Village,Mass. He was a Deacon of the First Church of Cambridge Village (now Newton).
THOMAS(1) lived in that part of ancient Watertown then called Watertown Farms,now the town of Weston,Ma.,where he was a large landowner and the first innkeeper from 1686 to 1708.
"The Boston Post Road gained early importance as a thoroughfare. It connected Boston with New York, Pennsylvania, and territory beyond. Along this road went armies and prisoners, spies and stagecoaches, post riders and Presidents. The earliest Post Road tavern was run by Thomas Woolson. In 1685, he had the misfortune of being fined twenty shillings and sentenced to an hour in the stocks for selling liquor without a license. His hostelry eventually became Baldwin's Tavern. During the revolution, American officers lodged there, while the troops and prisoners camped around the Burgoyne Elm across the way; British officers stayed in the more friendly Golden Ball Tavern."
He was a selectman in 1699,1700,1702,and 1703.He died at age 87 years at Sudbury,Mass. on 5 April 1713.His wife SARAH died at age 79 years at Sudbury,Mass.on 11 Sept 1721.Both are buried in a historical cemetery in the heart of the town of Weston,Mass.

Children: Thomas married Lydia SPRING; Sarah married James TREADWAY; William married first Mary LEARNED, and second Elizabeth BENJAMIN; Mary married Isaac BIGELOW; John married first Mrs. Sarah (MASON) CHAMBERLIN, and second Mrs. Ruhamah (LOCKE) WHITEMORE; and Isaac married Margaret.
2.THOMAS(2) WOOLSON-born 28 Feb 1666(VRC);died 21 July 1723;married ELIZABETH CHADWICK,born 8 May 1673 daughter of John C.CHADWICK and Sarah MANNING.;had a son JONAS(3)born 1 Oct 1711 who married SUSANNAH WALLIS and was one of the 1st five settlers of New Ipswich,NH.;a son JOHN(3) born 8 July 1694;and a daughter ELIZABETH(3) born 17 Aug 1698.
3.ELIZABETH(2) WOOLSON-born 20 April 1668(VRC);died 15 Dec 1711 Sudbury,Ma.;married 3 Nov 1686 JOHN HOWE,of Sudbury,Mass.,born 24 July 1664 and died 19 April 1740,son of Samuel Howe and Martha Bent. John HOWE-Born: 24 JUL 1664 at Sudbury,Middlesex,Mass.Married: 3 NOV 1686;died 19 APR 1740,son of Samuel HOWE and Martha BENT. Other Spouses: Hannah HAVEN
