Hello Nathan!

Thank you again: for my part I had not known they left from Marseilles. proof if it were needed that sharing benefits all. You are most welcome to the little scraps that I have, and I shall be delighted to receive the tree later.

Like you, I have never found names sufficiently satisfying though have seen that some do, usually those whose concern is social status and who have not had much education in history. My illustration of that is a little extraordinary. I was given a copy of the pedigree of part of my father's family and on it was the word 'regicide' which they all failed to see and not from any reading disability either. The regicide was Col John Lilburne who with a brother had been on the council that decided Charles 1 should be lopped. When I mentioned at home it they said defiantly "Who told you that!" , a put-down that had to be endured but was worth it for the amusement I've had out of it. They paid for my lengthy education and I regret they wished to hear no more of the events that went with the names.

I would like to know how far forward you wish to take the family tree. The only Woolford photograph I have is of my mother and her brothers when they were children.

If the Woolfords were in France perhaps Louisa who ran away to the circus joined it in France, though Phillip du Crow was said to be a cockney. I'll see if there was a Cirque du Crow! Right now I'm finishing a thesis and then will be free to play with the ancestors.

With best wishes,
