I have been researching the Cook/Cooke family and the following is from the Abington Parish Register. Robert, son of Richard and Elizabeth Woodfolk, March 10, 1690.Richard and Joseph Woolfolke's land joined the land of John and Thomas Cook who were of K&Q in 1728 when they patented 1000 acres each in Spots. See below.
Neighboring patents registered in the same date, 28 September 1728, were the following: John Henderson, also of K&Q, patented 1000 acres on the N. side of the Northanna, which bordered on Mr. Augustine Moore and Thomas Cook’s line; Charles Stevens, 1000 acres in Spotsyl. Co., in St. George’s Par; on S. side of the N. fork of the Northanna (riv) adj. John Cook: & land of Richard Woolfolke; John Stevens of King William, 800 acs. Spots., in St. George’s Par; on S. side of the N. forke of the Northanna, adj. Charles Stevens & Richard Woollfolk’s line; just above mouth of the Beaver Dam Run; Joseph Woollfolke of King William County, 1000 acs. in St. George’s Par; on N. side the Northanna; David Cave of King and Queen, 1000 in Spotsylvania in St. George’s parish on S. side of the N. fork of the Northanna.
