Dr. Wm. Addison Woollen of NC, b. 1836
I am looking for information on Dr. Woollen's parents and ancestry.I have a copy of an article written about him after his death, and it states he was born in Greensboro, NC, on January 15, 1836, and died at Randleman, NC, June 12, 1903.When he was young, he read medicine under Dr. C. W. Woollen at New Salem (the relationship between the men is not given), afterwards attending Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, before establishing his practice in New Salem and Randleman. He married Mary Lundy Walker in 1863.He had two children, one dying in infancy, the other being Mary Elizabeth, who married Dr. John Wesley Long, III, a prominent NC physician and surgeon in his day.Does anyone know more about this line?
