Richard Woodyard (5 January 1755-1837 Union County, KY) enlisted from Stafford County, VA in 1776, served with Captain Neal at Fredericksburg and later was with Washington at Yorktown; married 1) Sarah Cockrell in 1773, daughter of Benjamin and Sarah (Ashton) Cockrell of Fairfax, VA, 2) Mrs. Mary Mastin Covert, daughter of Richard and Sarah (Meredith) Mastin of Charles County, MD and widow of Robert Covert Jr. by 1782 in Stafford County, VA, 3) Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson on 2 February 1836 in Union County, KY.He and Mary were in Fauquier County, VA in 1790.Declared insolvent in 1810 in Pendleton County, KY, he died indigent in Union County, KY where he was buried in St. Vincent‘s Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
