For Aunt Marie---I had that she was born on August 18, 1889 in Preston Co. W.Va. Her parents were Samuel M. and Roberta T. Koontz Shaffer. Her name is Jessie Maria. In
the 1910 census of Preston Co. she is listed as age 20, name as Maria with her parents and 7 siblings...My 50's work started with the Walter Family. 2 Walter sisters married 2 Woodyard brothers (Ehud & John Marion). Looking back at the original notes: Floyd, no children; Luther,
died in infancy; Alvy, no children; Lee had Albert, Eva, and Roy; Addie had Pansy, Ruby, Fred, Pearl, Edith, and Bessie. A. Bertha said name was James Luther Woodyard, son of Ehud and Phoebe who died in infancy (James L. appears on the 1870 census)BUT on the 1880 census a James William, age 11 appears as the son of Thomas E. and Phoebe. Perhaps he died in childhood and not in infancy. Since she said that neither Floyd or Alvy had children, no more follow up was done on them.
