Sandra,I'm away from home right now, and do not have a current database with me.Here are some notes I have on my laptop, and a Woodyard researcher who is very through and helpful! Will look for other info when I return and let you know what else I might have.
Just in case you didn't know, Newton and Mary are buried at Friedens Lutheran in Gibsonville. You can view a photo of their tombstone by going here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bruckner/album/woodard_12s_1_2_3.jpghttp://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bruckner/album/woodard_12s_1_2_3.jpg
This was a puzzle because the surname says WOODARD, but he has been confirmed as Newton. There is also one son, Robert L., who died young and is buried with his parents.I'm not about other children other than the one mentioned in the e-note below.
Here are the notes I have:
Listed as Jonas in 1860 Guilford Co, NC census; and Isaac N. in his Mother's will.Is listed in NC Civil War records as Woodard.
"Isaac N. Woodard born in Guilford Co, NC, enlisted at age 20, 6 March 1864.Was wounded slightly in the head at Spotsylvania Court House in VA. in May 1864.Returned to duty prior to 1 Sept 1864.Wounded at Winchester VA 19 Sept 1864.Returned to duty prior to 1 Nov 1864.Captured at Ft. Stedman, VA 25 Mar 1865 and confined at Point Lookout, MD 27 Mar 1865, released 21 Jun 1865 after taking Oath of Allegiance."

Subject: Update on Progress
Hi Peggy
Lots has happened since my last contact with you!My conclusions about Isaac Newton Woodyard have been confirmed!I made contact with a Lady in Illinois who is also working on Guilford Co., NC and she put me in touch with a Lady in Guilford Co. that is the Granddaughter of Isaac Newton "Woodard" and she confirmed that Abraham Woodyard was his father.
I have suspected that was true for many years but was unable to prove it, one of Isaac Newtons daughters named a daughter "Marion Woodyard Hoffman" and that was the clue I needed to make the connection so I pursued the lead I had found and it lead me to find a 4th cousin.I am still looking for William Rankin and Samuel Paul Woodyard, brothers of Isaac Newton.
I'll keep you informed as to progress.......Robert R.
